You don’t need me to tell you that it has been forever since I have updated this portfolio and no amount of excuses will make up for the lost time. So, here it goes–I am starting back up again.
I finally found a job related to my field to gain that ever elusive experience. Recently, I was hired at OfficeMax as a Print Specialist and Graphic Design Artist. I have spent the last month getting into the working groove and I must say I do love it. Unfortunately, I am not permitted to post most of the work I do to avoid legal issues. However, my work at OfficeMax has encouraged me to begin working towards opening my own business.
This is a new idea and is still very much in the most infantile of phases. All I have is a name and an idea but every great business started just the same. I am so excited to begin offering my services and products to the masses–which for now will probably exist of my town. Ha. I will keep you updated as I learn more and work towards fully developing this idea.
In addition, I have volunteered for Massena Rescue since January and I love it! There is so much I could say about it that, honestly, I don’t know where to start. Let’s just suffice to say that EMS is one of my passions. On Memorial Day, MR will be hosting our annual Radiothon to raise funds and awareness. I have married my two passions by volunteering to be on the committee for this event. I have helped design sandwich boards and banners. I have also contributed to fundraising efforts and have worked closely with OfficeMax to provide affordable printing options for the collateral needed for this event. I am definitely looking forward to the big day!
It is apparent that I have a lot going on but with careful planning, superb time management and honest dedication–plus a 100% supportive significant other–I am rocking it. Stay tuned for more updates! Eventually, I will begin updating on a set schedule; I will let you know.
